RyePA
Here is the tastybrew.com analysis of my first wedding beer recipe, a RyePA. It is only a theoretical look at how the recipe should turn out, but I find it helpful. The style comparison is from a straight IPA.
This is my “Something New,” and the recipe came from a partial mash kit from Northern Brewer. Julia and I will be brewing this batch up later this evening. {I’ll be posting an update with the actual original gravity (OG) later.}
UPDATE: OG was 1.062 at approximately 76-80 degrees Fahrenheit. So we add .002 -.003 for the heat and get 1.064-1.065, a tad shy of target OG, but I’ll take it.
NOTE: Yesterday Julia and I banged-out the two Farm Day brews. We’ve been in our new apartment for 3 days and this is already our 3rd batch of beer!

I know your new place is a tad on the warm side- do you expect that will affect fermentation?

I moved the fermentation vessels to the basement where it is a good deal cooler at around 72 degrees F. I have a hefe and saison that are loving it, but I am slightly concerned about some of the other brews that call for temps in the high 60s.
I have the RyePA right on the concrete in the coolest, darkest area of the basement and I am trolling craigslist for a fridge.
