A new Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission ruling could spell some serious trouble for Massachusetts craft brewers. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the rules, but essentially the ruling would make it more difficult to procure a farm brewery license for new brewers and requires brewers under the license to get at least 50% of their hops and grains from local Massachusetts farmers.

The idea is to help local farmers while sheering up what are. perhaps, some loser interpretations of the farm brewery licensing rules. This could be great for local farmers, but many local brewers fear that it will negatively impact their business to such a degree that they may not be able to stay open.
